About Kristin

When Kristin moved to New York City from Pocatello, Idaho, in 1994 to pursue a career in acting, she never imagined she’d become an international fitness celebrity. While attending New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, she discovered yoga, which was taught at school for breath control and proper alignment. Driven by the profound effects yoga, Pilates, fitness and healthy eating can have on the mind and body, Kristin has dedicated her career and her life to teaching and sharing these disciplines with as many people as possible.

Always one to be creative and push the envelope, Kristin developed her own unique style which has been incredibly well received by students, fitness DVD consumers and health and wellness aficionados all over the world for its upbeat, refreshingly hip approach. Kristin demystifies the disciplines without losing sight of their origins.

Kristin uses her creative techniques to train numerous celebrities, models and athletes. She regularly teaches group classes at Reebok/Sports Club LA, Yoga Works, Clay and Equinox Fitness. She has also led retreats to Mexico, Italy, Morocco, Central and South America and throughout the United States.

In her quest to spread fitness and health to the masses, Kristin began starring in and creating fitness DVDs to reach people around the world. To date, Kristin’s DVDs include: MTV Yoga, MTV Power Yoga, MTV Pilates, MTV Pilates Mix, Weight Loss Pilates (Acacia Media), Pilates for Beginners—named top DVD pick by Shape Magazine August 2009 (Acacia Media) and her own self-produced and distributed programs: Kristin McGee’s Power Yoga, and Bendigirl Yoga for young ones.

Kristin’s most recent achievement is being named Fila’s Yoga Ambassador for their new Personal Performance Line of apparel. As part of this venture, she will launch her own unique Fila branded pant designed to protect the knees, and enhance the yoga practice and experience.

Kristin has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN Headline News, Fox’s Good Day New York, The Tyra Banks Show, Isaac Mizrahi and NBC’s Today Show as a fitness consultant and has been on the covers of Pilates Style and Fit Yoga magazines and in countless other magazines including Health, Shape, Fitness, Self, In Style, Women’s Health, Body and Soul and Prevention.

Kristin is ACE certified Personal Trainer, AFFA certified Aerobics, OM Yoga certified, Kelly Kane School of Core Integration Pilates certified and currently in a 600 hour Integrative Yoga Therapist training program through Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Foundation.
